Itinerary

May 6, 2010
Rocinante and Crew, now Larry and Vicki, are sailing north from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We plan to sail on the mainland side to Mazatlan and then cross the sea to La Paz in the next few weeks. From La Paz we will continue heading north in the sea of Cortez stopping at anchorages, islands and probably a marina or two as we head north. We may cross the sea to the mainland to go to Guaymas and haul the boat for bottom painting and to take a trip to the Copper Canyon which we hear is fabulous.
October we will begin heading south stopping in Puerto Vallarta area for reprovisioning and any needed repairs to the boat, hook up with our buddy boat(s) and continue to southern Mexico, Central America and through the Panama Canal probably early 2011.
And as my spouse says ‘Our plans are written in the sand at low tide’.

July 3, 2009-Larry and Vicki will retire from current employment

July-August 2009-Sail in the Puget Sound area, Pt. Townsend, Victoria and Barkley Sound are some of the expected ports of call. We are planning to cruise with all our various sails including the spinnaker, practice our skills at MOB, use of our Monitor Wind Vane, Heaving to, and using the john while underway in rough seas:)

(Victoria and Barkley Sound did not work out, went to Pt. Townsend and installed the Monitor though)

August 9-16-Sailing down the Hood Canal to Hoodsport for some family camping.

(Due to the height of the bridge vs. the height of our mast, we will not be going down the canal, instead we will leave the boat for the week of camping with family and come back on the 16th in preparation for leaving on the 17th)

August 17,2009–Sailing to Pt. Angeles or Neah Bay to wait for good weather window to head out to Pacific and begin our sail down to California. First stop San Francisco.

(now our plan is to go to Pt. Townsend for the rigging that needs to be done, we should be able to leave for Neah Bay on the 18th to await our window)

September–Arrive Southern California, San Diego

October 25, 2009– Leave San Diego for Cabo San Lucas with the BajaHaHa group

Nov. 4, 2009–Arrive Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Nov 2009-April 2010–Cruise the Sea of Cortez
